The Economic and Social Council of Greece organized an International Conference on “Demographics - Migration - Labor Markets”, on Monday, December 2, 2024 and Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Athens (The Acropolis Museum, “Dimitrios Pandermalis” Auditorium).
Opening speeches were delivered by Mr. Ioannis Paidas, President of the Economic and Social Council of Greece, and Mr. Makis Voridis, Minister of State.
The event was attended by Presidents and Members of Economic and Social Councils (ESCs) and similar institutions from countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America, representatives of international organizations (AICESIS, ILO, IOE, ITUC), as well as the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
During the sessions of the Conference, various topics were presented and discussed by prestigious speakers, and in particular the inclusion in the labor market at a global level, the mobility of populations across the globe, and the trends of demographic transition, as they constitute one of the greatest contemporary global challenges.
The Conference concluded its work with the adoption of a Joint Declaration.
