Κατά το δεύτερο τρίμηνο του 2020 το ποσοστό απασχόλησης στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (για άτομα ηλικίας 20-64 ετών) ήταν 66% για τις γυναίκες και 77% για τους άνδρες.

Αυτή η διαφοροποίηση στην απασχόληση των φύλων παρατηρήθηκε σε όλα τα επίπεδα εκπαίδευσης. Ωστόσο, όσο χαμηλότερο είναι το επίπεδο εκπαίδευσης, τόσο μεγαλύτερο είναι το χάσμα μεταξύ των ποσοστών απασχόλησης ανδρών και γυναικών.
