Ο Στόχος Βιώσιμης Ανάπτυξης (ΣΒΑ) 11 «Βιώσιμες πόλεις και κοινότητες» προωθεί την ανανέωση και τον σχεδιασμό των πόλεων και άλλων ανθρώπινων οικισμών, ενώ προσφέρει ευκαιρίες σε όλους, με πρόσβαση σε βασικές υπηρεσίες, ενέργεια, στέγαση, μεταφορές και δημόσιους χώρους πρασίνου, βελτιώνοντας παράλληλα τη χρήση των πόρων και ελαττώνοντας τις περιβαλλοντικές επιπτώσεις.

Η παρακολούθηση της προόδου του ΣΒΑ 11 στην ΕΕ επικεντρώνεται στην πρόοδο που έχει σημειωθεί στον εμπλουτισμό της ποιότητας ζωής στις πόλεις και τις κοινότητες, την προώθηση της βιώσιμης κινητικότητας και τη βελτίωση των περιβαλλοντικών επιπτώσεων.
