Το 2019, 77,9 εκατομμύρια εργαζόμενοι στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (ΕΕ) απασχολούνταν σε υπηρεσίες έντασης γνώσης, εκ των οποίων 31,8 εκατομμύρια ήταν άνδρες και 46,1 εκατομμύρια ήταν γυναίκες. Παρόλο που οι γυναίκες αντιπροσωπεύουν λιγότερο από το ήμισυ του συνόλου των απασχολούμενων στην ΕΕ (46%), αποτελούν την πλειοψηφία στις υπηρεσίες έντασης γνώσης (59%).

Σε όλη την ΕΕ, το 2019, το ποσοστό των γυναικών που απασχολούνταν σε υπηρεσίες έντασης γνώσης κυμαινόταν από 50% στη Μάλτα και το Λουξεμβούργο έως 67% στη Λιθουανία και τη Λετονία.
