Το 2022, το 52,8% του πληθυσμού της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης (ΕΕ), ηλικίας 16 ετών και άνω, ανέφερε ότι διάβασε βιβλία τους τελευταίους 12 μήνες.

Η νεότερη ομάδα, ηλικίας 16-29 ετών, διάβασε περισσότερα (60,1%) σε σύγκριση με τις ηλικίες 30 έως 54 (53,5%), 55 έως 64 (52,6%) και 65 ετών και άνω (47,2%).

Περισσότερες γυναίκες στην ΕΕ διαβάζουν βιβλία (60,5%) από τους άνδρες (44,5%).
