Το πρώτο εξάμηνο του 2022, οι μέσες τιμές οικιακής ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (ΕΕ) αυξήθηκαν απότομα σε σύγκριση με την ίδια περίοδο του 2021, από 22,0 € ανά 100 kWh σε 25,3 € ανά 100 kWh. Οι μέσες τιμές του φυσικού αερίου αυξήθηκαν επίσης σε σύγκριση με την ίδια περίοδο το 2021 από 6,4 € ανά 100 kWh σε 8,6 € ανά 100 kWh το πρώτο εξάμηνο του 2022. Πιο πρόσφατα, οι τιμές χονδρικής για την ηλεκτρική ενέργεια και το φυσικό αέριο αυξήθηκαν σημαντικά σε ολόκληρη την ΕΕ.
