Σύμφωνα με την Eurostat, τα περιβαλλοντικά φορολογικά έσοδα στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (ΕΕ) το 2019 ανήλθαν σε 330,6 δισεκατομμύρια ευρώ, ποσό που αντιστοιχεί στο 2,4% του ΑΕΠ.

Οι περιβαλλοντικοί φόροι της ΕΕ αντιπροσώπευαν το 5,9% των εσόδων από φόρους και κοινωνικές εισφορές το 2019.

Αυτό το ποσοστό διέφερε σημαντικά μεταξύ των κρατών μελών της ΕΕ. Η Βουλγαρία (10,3%), η Ελλάδα (9,8%), η Εσθονία και η Λετονία (9,6%) και η Κροατία (9,2%) κατέγραψαν τα υψηλότερα ποσοστά στην ΕΕ, υπερδιπλάσια από τη Γερμανία και το Λουξεμβούργο  (4.4%), οι οποίες κατέγραψαν τα χαμηλότερα ποσοστά.
