Μεταξύ του τέταρτου τριμήνου του 2023 και του πρώτου τριμήνου του 2024, 3,4 εκατομμύρια άνεργοι ηλικίας 15-74 ετών στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (25,5% του συνόλου των ανέργων το τέταρτο τρίμηνο του 2023) βρήκαν εργασία. Κατά τη διάρκεια αυτής της περιόδου, 6,8 εκατομμύρια (51,3%) παρέμειναν άνεργοι και 3,1 εκατομμύρια άνεργοι (23,3%) αποχώρησαν από το εργατικό δυναμικό.
